The 2018 Music Elective Concert

We held our Annual Elective Music Concert on Friday 14th September at Serenity Reception. Our students showcased their passion for music through varying repertoire, differing in genre, language and ensemble styles. Peers and families enjoyed a night of culture and food, cheering loudly as our students demonstrated so much talent. I would like to thank Munise Arslan and Gulsum Cerrah for accepting the roles of MC, and presenting with grace and confidence. We have received overwhelming feedback from our Sirius College family and friends. Guests who have supported all 7 music concerts proclaimed that this was their favourite! I would like to thank everyone who helped make it a jubilant night.

To my dear students, I would like to congratulate you all on a very successful concert. You rock! You have worked so incredibly hard this year; I told you there is no substitution for hard work. I’m so proud that we have developed a space where we can embarrass and better ourselves, where we can encourage and support each other. Know the music room is a place where expression and love is paramount. To my year 10s, 11s and 12s, it’s been a pleasure meeting you and spending 7 years with you. Good luck next year. You are all very talented and I am very proud of you.

I would finally like to farewell my Sirius College family for a year as I take maternity leave to commence my new journey as Mama. I will miss my students and colleagues and wish you a productive year ahead. I promise to visit with Bub. See you next year!
